What I got for Christmas

Thad got his wishes for Christmas. He got his playkitchen (I will have to post some pics later) and he got a new doctor kit! Thanks Auntie Heather! He LOVES to play doctor. Here is a pic of him "playing doc" with his bear he got from Dr. Mark at Overlake...the kid, I swear is known there! It seems he is destined to be affiliated with a hospital in some way; wonder if he will be the cook there...??

David got me the ipod I wanted. I've wanted to get rid of those CDs in the car for a long time and now I can finally play my music and Thad's and not have to fumble with CDs. Funny how technology changes!

Jenny, I thought I was the ONLY one that gets excited about experation dates. My birthday, Thad's birthday and Christmas! I see dates on the milk all the time and I am reminded of some special day, but this is the first time I have ever taken pics of them...LOL!

White Christmas

HUGE amounts of snow! We really did get our "white Christmas"! This year we did not lose power, but were prepared this time. Thad says, "We have flashlights, a generator, a fire...", he cracks me up!

So funny

Thad cracks me up. He makes (and I mean that) me take my vitamin every morning and today was even funnier. I had out two chewable supplements earlier in the day and he saw one still on the counter at dinner. He told me to take it and handed it to me, but I told him I would after dinner. Well, dinner was over and I was wrapping some gifts in the living room when he came up to me with the tablet in hand and said, "here mommy, take this!". He handed it to me and then returned with the milk from the fridge and asked, "here, you need milk?". It was the cutest thing! He even returned the milk to the fridge all by himself. He is really growing up. I just love him!

Thad's First Concert-Dan Zanes

Thad will not stop talking about his first concert we went to on Sunday the 7th at the Moore Theater. We saw Dan Zanes for his "House Party" Concert. It was really memorable! What a great time we had! It's crazy that David and I actually had such fun, but we really have gotten into Thad's music. I find myself singing it throughout the day, it's pretty funny.
At the end of the concert Thad even went up to Dan Zanes and his band and got to shake hands with them! It was so exciting. Best of all, they really liked Thad's hair all spiked up like Dan's!

Thaddeaus would like to introduce...

Our new pet hamster, Freddy.

I was at the Factoria Mall today with Thad for the story time and craft the YMCA puts on. After running into Aunt Heidi and Blake (an unexpected fun little visit) and then going to Kid Quest, we decided to go to Petco and look around. For some reason I felt it was time to let Thad in on the joy of having a pet. So here we are, with our cute little furry friend, Freddy. He is a dwarf hamster so he is really small, and SO cute. For now he has to be left alone quite a bit because he needs to adapt to his new environment, but soon he will be part of the family!

***IceSkating***

First time on the ice for Thad and he had a blast! He kept telling me how slippery it was, it was so funny.

We had a great time and even learned that next time we should bring a helmet so we don't have to use a pink girly one, LOL! Hey, it didn't keep the girls away though! Check out the pic of him holding hands... What am I to do with this kid-I guess I'll keep him.

A day with Oma

My mom and I took Thad out for the day last week. We had cupcakes and coffee at Trophy cupcakes in Walingford Center and got Thad a haircut at Klippers for Kids right nextdoor.

Thad likes to pretend he is driving...

On our way back we stopped at David's parent's house to see the progress. It looks great! The windows are in now, so it looks even more fabulous. My mom does not get out here often enough to keep up, so I wanted to show her. David's dad was there too, so it was nice for them to get to see eachother, too bad we missed his mom.

Pumpkin Patch visit 2008

David finally got a day off work after what seemed like a month of working seven days a week, so I took advantage and planned a trip to the pumpkin patch.

We meet with our friend Marjory and her boy, Zoltan. Marjory and I were pregnant together and our boys were due at about the same time. Thad is only older by a couple of weeks because he was early. They were buddies from within the womb! They are just so cute everytime they get together.

Bear encounter at the zoo!!

Today Heidi and I took Thaddeaus and Blakely to the Woodland Park Zoo. We had such a fun time! My friend Jessica and her daughter, Riplee (who I watch a couple days a week now) met us there as well.
Just before Jessica called us to let us know she was there so that we could meet up, we had the most amazing encounter with a bear! We were in the area that you can view the bears and otters from half under the water and half above, where the kids can run around and play while the animals swim around and go about their day. There was no one else around, so the bear came to the window with a big stick and started to give us a little show. He blew bubbles and put his paws to the window...it was incredible!

The boys had so much fun together too. I wanted to share this picture of them on the stroller, it is just so sweet. When they are much older, I will show it to them and I think they will get a laugh out of it.

3 in 3

Thad will be 3 in three months!!

Each year seems to go so fast. I am anxious to know what he will be like, what he will look like, and his likes and dislikes...but, I LOVE having my "little baby" still. Soon, there will be nothing baby about him.

Ocean Shores

I had been meaning to get this up. This was Thad's first trip to the ocean. We will have to be sure to get him out there at least once a year, he had so much fun.

A prayer to be forgiven

"Heavenly Father,
We come before you today
To ask your forgiveness and
To seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says,
"Woe to those who call evil good"
But that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium
And reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and
Called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness
And called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn
And called it choice.

We have shot abortionists
And called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline
Our children and called it
Building self esteem.

We have abused power
And called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's
Possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air
With profanity and
Pornography and called it
Freedom of speech and expression.

We have ridiculed the time
Honoured values of our
Forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God,
And know our hearts today;
Cleanse us from every sin
And set us free.

Amen!"

This is just something I think we all should think about....

For me, I have to admit, I have "coveted...and called it 'ambition'." It makes me look twice at myself and wonder, "Am I pleasing God?".

All we have is through Him, shouldn't we live our lives for Him?

Some fun we've been having..

Saltwater State Park

We have so many amazing days with my mom's group, and though I don't have time to, I just feel like I want to post everything! The kids have so much fun together and they learn so much too. I just love it.

Thanks to Jill and others, I have these wonderful pics, because I just can't seem to ever bring my camera! LOL!

It was great to check out the water and see what life we could find and after we got changed and had lunch on the grass near the little cafe. They have really good smoked salmon chowder. Yum!

We also had lots of rainfall lately, so I decided to let Thad get out and have some fun in the parking lot with his rain gear on. He had a blast!
